We are already beginning to see the consequences of our lack of action, as is evident in the dramatic climate changes being reported in virtually every nation in the last few years.<BR/><BR/>There is no longer any debate about the existence of global warming/climate change.<BR/>To continue to dispute the findings of the most revered climate scientists, climatologists and environmentalists is like putting a cork on a bottle of co2, eventually that cork is going to pop.<BR/><BR/>The world's economy will not matter in the end,if we fail to acknowledge and deal with the crises that is before us. Doubters and skeptics shouldn't have to implement a "show me" devise in order to be more convinced about the facts and figures surrounding global warming. The extreme weather and catastrophic events that are being published by the media, are not just a figment of someones imagination or cleverly devised scheme by environmentalists to disrupt the world's economy, they are real events that require our immediate and unabated attention.<BR/><BR/>I don't believe that anyone has the gift to predict what will happen in the next 25 years or for that matter in the next couple of years, but all indications are that we are headed towards a global catastrophe. The culprit is not just the influences and actions of mankind, but a host of factors, including the activity of our Sun and increasing earth changes which contribute to the extremity of our weather and the effect it ultimately has on civilization. The scientists who claim the theory is true can convince me and tens of thousands of others through one simple experiment. Pick five specific locations around the world. Predict within 0.5 Deg C what the high and low recorded temperatures will be on the first of every month for a period of 1 year. If they can, I accept their theory. If they can't, they issue a public appology for representing a guess as fact. Yes, I expect to see proof of NIST compliant calibraion, redundant sampling, and at least two significant digits past the decimal. A 24/7 web cam on every data logger wouldn't hurt. If they can't predict what will happen over the next year, how could I believe they can predict what will happen in 25 years?Trent Kellynoreply@blogger.com
