U.K.The Thames Barrier has been closed for the third time this month to protect London from a combined high tide and tidal surge. It was closed by the Environment Agency at 10am November 25 and it is possible that more closures may take place in the next few days. Tidal surges in the Thames Estuary of up to 1.2m are forecast due to a low pressure weather system over Norway. This causes northerly winds over the North Sea which push water down between Holland and the east coast of the United Kingdom.
